» Keyes to be inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame!

NEBC Member Philip Keyes puts in the winter milesNEBC’s own Philip Keyes is to be inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in Crested Butte, Colorado! Every year the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame’s members nominate three to seven individuals who have helped shape the sport in to what it is today for induction. On September 24th at a ceremony during the industry trade show Interbike at the Sand’s Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV five others will be honored along side Philip.

Philip is being recognized for his fantastic work with the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA). In 2003, Philip and NEMBA were able to raise nearly a quarter of a million dollars to save a local trail system known as “Vietnam” in Milford, MA. In doing so, NEMBA became the first club in the country to purchase land for the sole purpose of preservation and recreation.

Several NEBC members (like Philip) are also members of NEMBA, our members have even made it on to the cover of their magazine Singletracks several times!

More information and the other inductees can be found on VeloNews
