The shifting winds may have hindered some riders, but not Dean Phillips, who smashed the 20 minute barrier and broke the old course record by 15 seconds. That leaves a 30mph average speed as the next goal. Who can ride it in 19:30? (Or maybe Dean can convince me the course is 9.885 miles long.) Calling Andy Boone and Skip Foley….. - Scott For the weather and statistics freaks out there: It's hard to draw concrete conclusions since different riders show up every night, but average times on each date back up common sense that the best times have been posted with West to Northwest winds, warm temperatures, and low air pressure. Tonight had all three. Though some swirling gusts were tough on some riders, the wind was mainly from the West and became more northerly as the race went on - perfect - and we had the second lowest air pressure we've recorded. P.S. I will update the results with the missing rider ages and clubs as time allows.
