Wow! The weather was gorgeous. The only drawback was the school buses. They never seemed to be near enough for a draft, but near enough to stop traffic. Chris Coutu was forced to wait for about half a minute. Anyone know a good coach who can teach those kids to get off the bus faster? Katharine Snell took top honors for the women edging out Jessica Eckhardt who rode single tonight. Mike Pavlov proved the king of the fixed-gear shattering his own aero, fixed-gear record. (Also a 50+ record unless you count George Reynolds' recumbent record.) Peter Bradshaw came very close to breaking Ray Johnson's canibal (non-aero) record of 22:01.9 (8/23/2001) to set the second fastest non-aero time. According to my reckoning Ken McCallum set the now third fastest time of 22:08.5 two weeks ago. (Yes, the website records page needs an update.) We also celebrated the return of the recumbents with George Reynolds back to chase his own record in a class by himself (any other 'bent' riders out there?)
