in her own words
How did you spend this off-season/winter?
Figuring out this mommy thing to baby Claire. Skiing and finally deciding on Jan 1 to race at the national level again.
What are your goals for 2008?
To make the New England women’s races fun and exciting and put an NEBC Women on the podium at every team race. Maybe also get a few personal results at the national level.
When did you start racing, how and why?
My sister introduced me to running races and triathlons, but I was best at the bike leg. Found out that there were bike-only races and decided to give it a try.
What was your first bike?
Small red bike with coaster brakes. A hand-down-me from my older siblings.
What would you consider your finest moment on the bike?
Making it to the finishing circuits in Danbury, CT with the pack during the Tour of CT in 2003 when I was dropped on the first climb at the start of the race in 2002.
When you’re not on your bike, what do you like to do?
Hang out with my hubby Jim playing pool and watching movies, and baking!!!
What’s the best advice you ever got for training/racing on the bike?
If you lead up the hill, you can control the pace.
